Karen is responsible for keeping SMSF accounts up to date, liaising with clients, compiling documents, updating the SMSF system and supporting the team as it continues to grow. Before joining us, Karen worked in the education industry both in Australia and Hong Kong. She has various qualifications including Certificate 3 in Administration, Certificate 4 in Accounting & Bookkeeping, Certificate 3 & 4 in Applied Language (Japanese) and Certificate 3 in Education
Karen has a passion for Japanese culture and studied the language for many years and spent a year in Japan, continuing her studies. She also lived in Hong Kong as her husband was based there for work which was a wonderful experience.
What’s your best tip for anyone moving to Australia?
Do your research prior to coming, as there are important tax implications. On a lighter side, bring swimwear, sunscreen and a hat, as our summers and beaches are some of the best in the world.
What’s the best thing about living in Australia?
It’s the freedom, the weather, the beaches and the relaxed attitude and atmosphere.
What do you miss about living in Australia?
The fresh air, open spaces and the family barbeques.
What gives you the most satisfaction at work?
Knowing that we are helping people by assisting them organise their finances so they can have the best life possible during retirement.
